The Owner and Instructor, Elena Marinina

My name is Elena Marinina. During my late teens and mid 20s, I attended the Odessa Conservatory where I studied the classical piano, voice, lyrical-dramatic soprano, and chorus conducting. In May of 2000, I graduated from the conservatory with an MA degree and joined my husband in Boston, Massachusetts.

In May of 2001, I became a mother of wonderful twins, Alexandr and Anastasia. Balancing our careers and kids, my family eventually settled in Durham, North Carolina, where I founded Do-Re-Mi-Instructors. I am a mother myself, so I understand the viewpoint of children and know how to teach and encourage all levels of learning.

I handpick those who help me instruct so that your child receives the best instruction. Giving children a special skill and
sense of accomplishment is a pleasure. I delight in watching a child light up when they play, and I am so proud of them when they achieve.

Matthew Wilson

Matthew Wilson -has been playing the guitar obsessively since he was 8 years old. As he grew older and started running out of Beatles songs to learn, his playing began to progressively absorb elements of (in order of absorption) bluegrass, metal, ska, jazz, free improvisation, punk rock, and R&B. Matthew received a BA in Music (Jazz emphasis) from the University of California, San Diego. He has played in almost every kind of band over the years, from instrumental surf rock trio to musical theatre pit orchestra. These days he concentrates on writing and performing his own music, occasionally throwing in a Fiona Apple cover or two to keep things real.
